IMPROVED SOUND QUALITY:

With the help of Stanford University which developed the technology, we use JackTrip - a system for High-Quality Audio Network Performance over the Internet. JackTrip supports bidirectional, high quality, uncompressed audio streaming. This makes it possible to have live worship sessions in realtime, with quality audio. You will need a few things (1) a microphone for your computer, not a built-in computer microphone (2) Headphones to avoid feedback (3) a computer or laptop to use the desktop app, not a tablet (4) a hardwired Internet connection, not Wifi

Skype, Zoom and Google hangouts, YouTube and other setups DON'T WORK for this. They are not aimed specifically for music. They target group conversation and speech but they have a half second delay, and the sound quality is not good enough for music. JackTrip is music focussed, aimed at low delay and high sound quality

JackTrip is cheaper than Elk Live, a similar service but which requires hardware costs of £300 + £14.39/month. JackTrip is FREE and the hardware is optional to improve performance.
